Council approves EMS equipment contracts, grants and capital projects; several ordinances adopted

The council voted to authorize a contract with Stryker Sales for emergency medical services equipment and related services for a first-year amount not to exceed $1,736,939 and an annual budgeted amount of $200,000 citywide. The council also approved an amendment to the Zoll Medical Corporation contract for monitors and related equipment, increasing the revised contract ceiling to $1,702,698 citywide.
The council accepted and authorized execution of an agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Family Assistance, to accept and expend $6,250,000 for a fatherhood initiative administered by the Health and Human Services Department.
On capital improvements, the council awarded a construction contract for the Drake Park Community Center improvement project to MSH Development Group for a total not to exceed $1,691,650 (District 1) and approved a $9,000,000 appropriation increase in the Capital Projects Fund for the Shoemaker Boulevard replacement project (District 1). The council also amended the city's bike share contract with the operator (listed as Bridal Movement in the staff report) to a revised contract amount not to exceed $7,480,824 citywide.
Two ordinances were read and adopted as read: a departmental organization ordinance and an appropriations ordinance for fiscal year 2026 declared as an emergency ordinance creating and establishing fund groups and authorizing expenditures for the coming fiscal year.
