Commission pulls Fort Bragg fence amendment (CDP20250005) for procedural review

The Archaeological Commission removed CDP20250005 from the Sept. 10 hearing and will not consider it until procedural questions are resolved, Planning and Building Services Director Julia Krog said.
CDP20250005 would have amended a coastal development permit to allow construction of a six-foot cedar fence totaling about 316 linear feet with gates at 33041 Virgin Creek Lane in the Fort Bragg area. Staff at the meeting said the item had been previously heard and that additional clarification was needed from the director’s office; some participants indicated the agenda packet they received showed a different placement for the item.
“...this item is not gonna be able to be heard today. There's some questions surrounding the procedural aspects of it, including how it was agendized on the agenda,” Director Julia Krog said. She told the applicant’s agent, Kelly Grimes, that staff would contact him after the meeting to sort out next steps and that the item would be pulled from today’s calendar.
Staff said the item will be returned to a future meeting after the county and the applicant resolve the agendizing and procedural issues. No substantive project discussion or vote occurred at the Sept. 10 meeting.
The item had been listed in the meeting packet and several public participants and applicants logged on expecting the item; the director’s announcement at the meeting clarified the reason for the removal and signaled follow-up between staff and the applicant’s agent.
