Douglas County commissioners on Sept. 17 approved a regional resource‑sharing agreement that allows the county to share or receive emergency resources with partner jurisdictions without waiting for a formal disaster declaration.
The measure, presented through the county emergency management office, passed on a 4‑0 voice vote as part of the consent agenda. Robert Binecki, Douglas County director of emergency management, told commissioners the agreement is voluntary and “can be exercised without a disaster declaration in place or while we're waiting for a declaration to come.”
