Umatilla County commissioners on Sept. 17 opened written bids for unsold tax-foreclosed parcels from an Aug. 20 auction and accepted three offers that met or exceeded the listed minimums.
A county staff member explained the process: unsold parcels from the tax-foreclosed auction were offered for written bids with a submission deadline of Sept. 15. The board then opened bids and considered them against minimum bid amounts listed in the meeting packet.
Accepted bids included a Meacham-area lot (Tax lot 2700, minimum $8,860.50) that received a single offer of $9,010; a parcel west of Windsap Road (zone EFU) that received a bid of $150 (minimum $3); and a Southwest Perkins Avenue lot (approx. 0.33 acres) that received two offers, the higher at $125,555 and the lower at $78,000; the board accepted the $125,555 offer.
The staff member noted that six properties remain without acceptable bids. Each acceptance was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript records commissioners saying "Aye" for each acceptance.
