Staff told the board they completed a two‑year lookback and refunded 32 customers a total of $23,781.02 after the city revised its policy on how meter pit, equipment and labor charges are assessed when customers move from flat rate to metered service. The refund covered customers who were charged under the prior policy, staff said.
Staff also said the utilities strategic direction update that had been scheduled for Sept. 22 was rescheduled to Oct. 13 as a council study session. The presentation will summarize work completed since the utility master plan updates in 2020 and March 2023, comparing where the utility started to where it stands today and describing recent investments and programmatic work, staff said.
No board action was required on the reports.
Staff asked the board to consider listening in or attending the Oct. 13 study session if members wished to follow the strategic update.
