Fire chief reports ISO audit results, training plans; Peach Days committee reports revenue

Fire Chief Randy Kenny told the Fair City Council on Sept. 10 that the department completed an ISO (Insurance Services Office) audit and that the department’s current ISO rating remains unchanged at 5.
Kenny said the department received recommendations during the audit that he hopes the city will support; he plans to work with planning and zoning to bring proposed ordinance updates forward in coming months. The chief said the department will focus on recruit training, regional live-fire and winter school trainings and on outreach to local schools for fire-safety programs.
Separately, the Peach Days committee provided a summary report. Committee chair Megan said the event went "pretty good," acknowledged a few complaints and reported preliminary revenue in the ledger of $15,440.76; she said the expense side is still being finalized and that the committee will review the event again in October to identify improvements for next year.
Council members thanked organizers and volunteers and noted that some logistics (location, generator for inflatables, vendor layout) worked well and will inform next year’s planning.
