The first one is the addition of bowling, which is now a sport offering for students.” The presenter explained that the policy aligns bowling with other sports’ disciplinary frameworks and that track rules were revised because “there’s now an allowance for additional meet opportunities.”
According to the administrator, the specific change for track shifts the first offense to five calendar dates and the second offense to 10 calendar dates to reflect increased competition opportunities. The presenter also requested that the board waive the second reading so the district could “get this into place ASAP.”
A board member moved approval of the policy update with a waiver of the second reading; another board member seconded. The board chair called the question and members voted in favor. The motion carried and the policy update was adopted.
