Manor ISD board finds "no good cause" to accept three resignations after closed session, votes unanimously

The Manor Independent School District board on Sept. 15 voted unanimously to find there was “not good cause” to support three employees’ resignations, actions taken as closed-session follow-up in open session.

- On agenda item 8.1 the board “make[d] a finding that there is not good cause to support Anna Porpero's resignation.” The motion was made by Trustee Patterson and seconded by Trustee Rodriguez Barnett. The motion passed, 6–0.
- On agenda item 8.2 the board “make[d] a finding that there is not good cause to support Amanda Day's resignation.” Trustee Patterson moved the motion; Trustee Thomas seconded it. The motion passed, 6–0.
- On agenda item 8.3 the board “make[d] a finding that there's not good cause to support Markelle Robinson's resignation.” Trustee Patterson moved the motion; Trustee Rodriguez Barnett seconded it. The motion passed, 6–0.
Meeting minutes and the board’s statements on the record indicate these motions were taken after the board’s closed executive session, which the presiding officer cited as being held under multiple sections of the Texas Open Meetings Act. The board did not elaborate about the substance of the closed-session deliberations while in open session, consistent with statutory confidentiality for certain matters discussed in executive session.
