Senior planner Daisy Kawasaki told the commission staff is revising the draft resolution to ensure compliance with state housing laws and to improve clarity and formatting before returning to the commission. Staff said the revisions are being coordinated with the city attorney so the document is legally defensible if adopted.
Staff recommended continuing the public hearing to the commission's Oct. 8 meeting; no public speakers appeared on the item. The commission left the public hearing open and voted unanimously to continue the item to Oct. 8.
Staff said the forthcoming revised resolution will be presented at the Oct. 8 hearing and will reflect the city attorney's input to ensure conformity with state law and the city's development goals where permitted.
