Santa Fe ISD board adopts 2025–26 goals with new actionable subgoals

The Santa Fe Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Sept. 15 to adopt the district’s board goals for 2025–26. The goals retain prior high-level priorities but add more detailed, actionable subgoals intended to be tracked as a living document.
Superintendent (identified in the meeting as Dr. Block) presented the goals and described subgoals under five main areas: safety (including safety-audit targets and behavioral and mental-health supports), achievement (measurable growth in core academic content and career/technical education), culture (internal and external communications and stakeholder engagement), recruitment (onboarding and retention strategies), and financial integrity (honoring local taxpayers while maintaining fiscal stewardship).
A board member moved to adopt the goals and a second was made; the board then voted to approve the 2025–26 board goals.
Board members thanked staff for engaging trustees in goal development and noted the document is intended to remain flexible as student needs evolve. The superintendent said the goals and subgoals will be posted on the district website.
