The Carlisle Area School District board president expressed gratitude to district staff, teachers and community partners and announced several upcoming meetings and administrative items during the meeting.
The president thanked district administration, teachers, aides, school police, librarians, counselors, nurses, maintenance staff, bus drivers, principals, students and families, and said the district welcomes more than 5,200 students this school year.
The president also noted the support of area businesses that provide internships and career exploration opportunities. The Bison Foundation was singled out for supporting the 11th year of the district’s Bison Camp; a board speaker also thanked local businesses including Whistle Stop and the C Love thrift store for community support and internship connections.
The board president said a board self-evaluation memo will be sent to members next week and that committee meetings will be held on Oct. 2 and Oct. 9, both starting at 7 p.m. The president said the board meeting will be Oct. 16 at 7 p.m., and that an executive session will be held Oct. 9 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Fowler Cafe. The president also said two nights of committee meetings were scheduled to accommodate an architect presentation.
