A facilities presenter said the district solicited bids for one 48‑passenger wheelchair bus included in the current year's budget. Staff reported four bids: MA Brightbill Body Works at $154,019 (lowest); Wolfington at $165,005.95; a third bidder at about $169,086.68; and a fourth at $195,989. The presenter recommended awarding the bid to MA Brightbill Body Works if it meets the district specifications.
Staff said the dealer has the bus on the lot and, pending board approval and purchase‑order release after the voting meeting, the vehicle should be delivered and enter service within a few weeks. Committee members discussed fleet diversity and whether staff certifications are required to service particular bus bodies; staff said specifications were developed by the head lead mechanic and appropriate staff and that the district uses multiple body vendors in its fleet. The committee also reviewed several obsolete inventory items at Seiler Elementary, the high school and Bedminster that staff recommended discarding or disposing of.
The facilities presenter said the item will return for board action; the committee transcript records recommendation and discussion but no final board approval in committee.
