Commissioners press for park safety checks, incident reports and input on Sherwood Recreation Center plans

Commissioners used their reports to urge closer oversight of parks and library facilities, to request incident reports, and to ask that design schematics for the Sherwood Recreation Center be shared with the commission for public input.

Commissioner Nancy Gutierrez said she attended the Ensign Community Park grand opening and later found a missing screw she described as a safety concern. "I saw a screw missing out of out of place," Gutierrez said; she reported giving it to staff at the event and asked for safety protocols to protect children.
