He said the board centralizes communication through the board president to maintain a "unified voice" and explained personnel matters raised in correspondence were confidential: "There will be no discussion of that... this is a personnel matter, and we do not discuss personnel matters with the public." He said anyone seeking further detail should contact the administration.
Near the close of the meeting, McCarthy asked whether the board agreed to move back into executive session and to end that session at approximately 7:58 p.m. so the board could proceed downstairs for the regular meeting.
