Glendale approves minutes, bills and a second office computer; pest control and road repairs discussed

Glendale approved routine administrative items at its Sept. 18 meeting, including adoption of the prior meeting’s minutes, acceptance of town bills and a motion to purchase a second computer for the town office to support the treasurer and secretary.

Council members moved to accept the minutes from the previous meeting and seconded the motion; the minutes were accepted. A motion to accept the bills as presented was made and seconded and also carried.

Town staff and council members discussed buying a second computer to allow the treasurer and the secretary to work simultaneously. A council member moved and a second was recorded; the purchase motion passed. The meeting record does not show a public discussion of model, vendor or a specific purchase price; members said they would “get with” staff to identify the best option.

Council members reviewed pest-control options for town buildings. Staff said Morgan Pest Control provides service April through October for $89 per month (seven visits, $623/year) and that a vendor called Bugsy offers year-round service at either $75 quarterly or $55 bimonthly. Staff recommended the bimonthly Bugsy option ($55 per visit, $330/year), which the council directed staff to pursue without a formal vote.

The roads report said crack sealing work had been completed and chip sealing (referred to as "chipping") was expected to begin soon, pending equipment availability. A speaker said the town expects to allocate approximately $30,000 toward related road work.

The planning committee reported no quorum at a recent meeting and said no items were advanced.
