The Kane County Commission voted unanimously Sept. 16 to adopt an updated Kanab Center schedule of fees with agreed edits to booking-priority language and minor grammatical corrections. Commissioner Cabea moved approval and the commission accepted county attorney edits clarifying local-priority booking and correcting a wording error identifying the owner.
County staff described changes to rental and equipment-use fees, including clearer distinction between local and nonlocal rates and a revised equipment-replacement/usage fee formula for items with different replacement values. Commissioners said the revised schedule balanced community access with revenue for outside rentals. The county attorney asked that language in the “local use priority booking” paragraph combine King County and Kanab City scheduling language so the two entities are treated equally under the interlocal agreement; commissioners accepted that change and asked staff to implement it.
The motion approved the fees as amended and set the effective date as Sept. 16, 2025; staff and the clerk’s office were directed to finalize resolution numbering and ensure the schedule is attached to the county’s annual fee-resolution packet.
