Committee members said the practical effect of both changes is to make it easier to reach a quorum in months when attendance drops. The revised language reduces the number of required voting members from 14 to nine and preserves voting seats for local governmental stakeholders, including the Grand County Commission, the City of Moab, the Grand County Active Transportation (GCAT) representative, San Juan County, the Southeast Utah Health Department and Search and Rescue, while listing land agencies as ex officio participants.
Samantha (identified in the meeting as the vice chair) summarized the edits and said the committee had already circulated the draft to the county attorney for review. Jacques (county liaison) confirmed the county will place the revised bylaws on a future agenda after the ex officio language is added.
