Hilton Head Island Town Council on Sept. 16 approved a slate of resolutions and ordinances ranging from a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development five‑year consolidated plan to creation of a land‑management task force and two property transactions authorized after executive session.
The most significant council votes were unanimous or near‑unanimous. The council approved the 2025–2029 consolidated plan required by HUD for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement funding and accepted HUD’s associated funding agreement. Council also approved a resolution supporting a tri‑share child‑care pilot project to be pursued with the local legislative delegation, and it adopted a resolution defining the names and missions of its standing subcommittees in line with the town’s strategic action plan. A first‑reading ordinance granting a nonexclusive access and utility easement related to Patterson Park also passed. Separately, the council established a 21‑member land management ordinance (LMO) task force to help review proposed zoning and development code changes.
