The East Ridge Codes Enforcement Board on Thursday voted to solicit bids to remove items stored under the carport at 1440 Millborough Circle after staff reported repeated noncompliance and the property owner did not appear at the hearing.
Code enforcement told the board that the yard had been maintained but that many debris items had been moved into the carport, where open storage remains a violation. Staff said no one had appeared at prior hearings to explain the situation and that this would be a third cleanup action if the owner continued to ignore orders.
Given the property owner’s lack of contact, the board moved to require bids to clean up the carport and remove rubbish and debris. The motion passed unanimously. Board members said they preferred owner compliance but were prepared to have the work done by a contractor if necessary.
