The Jenks Planning Commission on Sept. 4 voted to continue consideration of JZ25 PUD146 MA2, a request that would change zoning for a corner parcel from CS (commercial shopping) to RS-3 (residential single-family) and approve a major amendment to an existing planned unit development (PUD).
City planning staff described the matter as part of a larger, multi-phase project (Crossvine/Glenwood Ridge) in which phases and amenities have been developed at different times. “I did recommend approval, but I think without full review, it might be best to continue this to the next meeting so that we could get a full understanding of the amenities and the connectivity and how the HOA's would function,” Ms. Hilton, a city planning staff member, told the commission.
Staff said the top phase (Crossvine) is well underway and has been coordinated with infrastructure, while the middle and lower pieces have unresolved amenities packages and HOA details that staff requested be submitted before the commission takes final action on the major amendment.
A commissioner noted the commission and city council have previously placed a priority on seeing robust amenities in PUD proposals. Commissioners moved and seconded a motion to continue the item to the next meeting; the motion passed unanimously: Boris — yes; Bowman — yes; Sellers — yes; Nixon — yes; Stevens — yes; Chair West — yes. The commission set the next meeting date as Oct. 9.
The continuation means the applicant will be expected to provide a full amenities package, connectivity plans and HOA governance information for staff and commissioners to review before the commission acts on the major amendment request.
