The Charlton Select Board voted unanimously Sept. 9 to support a Planning Board request to place acceptance of Hyde Road and Downey Lane on a special Town Meeting warrant and to approve the layouts as presented.
Planning Board members asked the Select Board to hold the required public meeting and to file any approval with the Town Clerk at least seven days before a Town Meeting vote. The Highway Department had reviewed the plan and did not register objections, but the highway supervisor was absent due to illness.
Town Administrator Andrew Coolis and Planning Board member Randy said that abutters were notified and had no objections at a review; the board’s vote will allow the town clerk to follow statutory procedures for a formal acceptance vote at a future Special Town Meeting.
Ending: The Select Board’s vote to support the layouts will be filed with the Town Clerk; the acceptance will proceed through the statutory public-notice and Town Meeting process as required by municipal law.
