The action followed a public hearing in which Joanne Core, president of Twin Coach Estates Homeowners Association, explained the membership had voted at a September 2017 meeting to approve the increase as part of its 2018 budget. “I’m Joanne Core. I’m the president of the homeowners association at 8 Haskell Circle,” Core said while testifying and was sworn in to speak during the hearing.
Board members reviewed financial statements and budget documents provided by the association. A board member who identified herself as a certified public accountant and who reviewed the association’s records told the board, “I am a CPA, so this is, like, right at home,” and cautioned the association about long-term debt service and the likelihood of needing future increases if conditions change.
