District pilots FirstView bus-tracking app, plans cameras on buses for next school year

"We're in the pilot phase of the process right now," she said, noting the district hopes to roll the app out for all families in the fall at no cost to the district.
Administrators also reported ongoing negotiations to install cameras on all buses for the next school year. The business manager said the district is working with the vendor and budgeting staff to secure funding and to pilot both the app and the cameras before full implementation.
The committee invited parents to volunteer for the pilot and said it would monitor results and report back to the committee during the spring. Transportation staff also said they will bring a fuller transportation report to the committee at the next meeting, including bus-route numbers and operational details.
