Resident asks council for update and safety improvements around planned Sage Hills Elementary park

Heather Norton, a resident of 3241 South Holloway, addressed the council during public input Sept. 16 seeking an update on a promised park near Sage Hills Elementary in South Saratoga. Norton said many homeowners were told a park would be built “10 plus years ago” and that plans visible on the city website appear to have been removed.
Norton told the council the road where she lives is often used for parent drop‑off and pick‑up and that parked cars force children to walk between and behind vehicles, creating a safety concern. She said a park would give a safer walking route for children to the school, provide an alternate pickup location to ease congestion at the school and offer more community space in South Saratoga.
Mayor and staff asked to have city staff follow up. Staff said they would have someone contact Norton and bring a status report to the next administrative report or the next council meeting. Norton said she had spoken with neighbors and voiced appreciation for staff willingness to follow up.
No formal action was taken; staff committed to follow up with the resident and report back.
