The Saratoga Springs City Council voted unanimously Sept. 16 to formally name the new Wander Village 3 riverfront park “River Walk at Saratoga Springs.” The resolution (R‑25‑46) applies to the park along the Jordan River between Pioneer Crossing and Pony Express Parkway.
Parks staff provided four name options: River Walk Park at Saratoga Springs; Birdview Park; Timpanogos View Trail; and Saratoga Riverfront Park. Several council members expressed support for a Riverwalk‑style name that also includes the city’s name for clarity. Council discussion included suggestions such as “Jordan Promenade” and preferences about whether River Walk should be one or two words; the council settled on “River Walk at Saratoga Springs.”
The motion to approve the name was moved and seconded; vote: Wadman — Aye; Karn — Aye; Wilden — Aye; Comber — Aye; Barton — Aye. Motion passed unanimously.
Staff will proceed with signage and other identification tasks consistent with the approved name.
