The West Haven City Council on Sept. 17 approved Resolution 47-2025 to extend Utopia's fiber network to Stonefield Park and to accept Utopia as the network provider for that connection.
City Manager Warren Key explained the payment terms: the monthly charge will be $86 in the initial period, with $50 attributed to the wholesale-service (ISP) portion and $36 attributed to the cost of extending the network. After 84 months the $36 extension charge drops off and the city would pay $50 monthly going forward.
Council voted by roll call to adopt Resolution 47-2025: Council member Kahl: Aye; Council member Dixon: Aye; Council member Morse: Aye; Council member Saunders: Aye. The motion carried.
No additional discussion or alternate financing terms were recorded on the meeting transcript.
