The City of Quincy Board of License Commissioners on Sept. 16 approved a one-day special use permit allowing beer and wine sales for the Hospital Hill Neighborhood Association’s fall gathering on Oct. 18 on Glendale Road between Monroe and President's Lane.
Michelle Peterson, representing the neighborhood group, told the board the event is planned as a neighborhood block party and that vendors are still being finalized. “So, we're looking to host a, you know, neighborhood block party,” Peterson said.
Board members asked about coordination with public safety and traffic control. Peterson said the association will work with police and that an application had been submitted; she referenced a fellow applicant who normally works with the department to arrange road closures. Chair Chriswell then called for a motion; a board member moved to approve the special use permit and another board member seconded. The board voted in favor without further recorded discussion.
The permit covers Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; an alternate date of Oct. 19 was noted in case vendor availability requires it. The board record notes the event location as Glendale Road between Monroe and President's Lane.
The item was handled during the board’s licensing agenda and no conditions or vote tally by individual members were read into the public record during the meeting.
