The Quincy Planning Board on Sept. 17 continued the site-plan public hearing for a proposed eight-story, 321-unit residential project at 42 Beale Street to the Nov. 19 meeting at the applicant’s request.
Attorney Fleming filed a written request saying neighbors raised concerns during a neighborhood meeting hosted by Councilor Daniel Minton and that the applicant plans to review and revise the proposal with planning staff. The board accepted the continuance and set the next hearing date for Nov. 19.
At the Sept. 17 meeting staff recited the project description from the filed materials: demolition of a one-story storefront at 16 Old Colony Avenue and construction of an eight-story, approximately 321-unit multifamily building with three levels of structured parking for roughly 322 vehicles, plus resident amenity spaces and landscaping. The property was described as 86,752 square feet and located in a Business C zoning district within portions of Beale Street, Pitts Avenue and Old Colony Avenue.
Because the applicant requested additional time to respond to neighborhood concerns and to coordinate revisions with the planning department, the board did not open substantive debate on the project at the Sept. 17 session.
