JER reports new membership system, revenue increases and Oct. 4 grand opening for sports center and playground

JER operations staff reported successful early results from a new membership and court-reservation system and outlined plans for a sports-center grand opening and programming expansion.
Ryan, JER operations lead, said the facility launched a new membership program through the CourtReserve platform and that data are rapidly accumulating: "We imported 59 annual members from the old system, but as of just a few minutes ago, I approved more… We are at a 119 now," he said. Ryan showed a daily-revenue report and noted the system recorded a $14,532 day for membership-related transactions on one recent day while the platform continues a 30-day data-collection window.
Ryan explained the new platform offers automatic monthly renewals and clearer transaction records for staff, replacing an older calendar-month process that created confusion at the front desk. He said the city will continue to operate drop-in reservations on the legacy system through September and plans to move all operations to CourtReserve on Oct. 1; staff expect fuller transaction visibility at that point.
Programming, community events and volunteers
Ryan described the Oct. 4 grand opening for the sports center, playground and splash pad; the program will include a ribbon cutting, community booths (United Way and local child-care providers were invited), food trucks, and demonstrations for tennis and pickleball. He said a Born Learning Trail — ten educational signs with painted activities for young children — will be installed next to the playground before the event.
Ryan also described other priorities: rolling out a volunteer program to expand daily operations, launching after-school programs this fall, and recruiting pickleball instructors for youth and adult programs. Staff said they will offer commissioner and parks tables at the grand opening for public outreach.
