Indian Trail law enforcement reported to council that officers handled 4,927 calls for service in August. Assistant/representative Andy (law enforcement) said 2,416 of those calls were preventive patrols and listed other activities including 151 alarm calls, 196 hang-up 911 calls, 257 business checks and 157 reports taken.
Andy also described a multi‑agency checkpoint operation conducted with Monroe, Stallings and other partners that used a mobile “batmobile” unit equipped with a magistrate and multiple breathalyzers. The checkpoint resulted in several stops and on-site processing; officers coordinated with towing and jail personnel to manage logistics and clear the parking lot before morning business hours. The department said it will present additional traffic statistics at a future meeting.
Council thanked law enforcement for visibility and preventive patrols. No formal action was associated with the report; it was provided as an informational update.
