Polk County approved an updated banking agreement to reflect Bremer Bank’s acquisition by Old National Financial, a step county staff said was necessary for the county’s upcoming conversion to the bank’s systems and for staff training.
Finance director Stacy told the board she and bank representatives had met and reviewed system changes and timelines; she said the county must re-sign agreements to obtain access to the new online systems and training ahead of an October transition. She said the county’s local Bremer representatives would remain in place despite the parent organization’s change of ownership.
Commissioner Paul moved and the board approved the updated agreement by voice vote. County staff said execution of the papers will allow the finance office to complete testing and training and to begin the vendor’s transition process on schedule.
Ending: The board’s action was administrative; county staff will coordinate data and user transitions with Old National on the vendor timeline.
