Polk County commissioners voted to accept two petitions to survey and perform maintenance on County Ditch 28 and County Ditch 100, both located in Section 11 of Hammond Township, and approved coordinating the work so both ditches are addressed together.
County staff said Ditch 28 runs east–west at the north end of Section 11 and Ditch 100 angles north and west roughly a half mile into the same section; staff recommended combined work and the board approved the two petitions after motions and seconds from commissioners.
The board also approved a name change on the county’s existing facility snow-removal contract in East Grand Forks, replacing the contractor name A Plus Yard and Snow LLC with JD Construction through May 31, 2026, with hourly rates unchanged from the current multi-year arrangement. County staff said paying by the hour for East Grand Forks facilities has been administratively easier than paying by event.
Ending: The decisions allow drainage maintenance work to proceed in Hammond Township and keep the county’s East Grand Forks campus covered for winter snow removal under the newly named contractor agreement.
