Resident urges clearer consent-agenda listings and hearing-loop audio for county meetings

During the public-comment portion of the Sept. 16 meeting, Montezuma County resident Mike Lynch urged the Board of County Commissioners to list individual items that are included on the meeting consent agenda when it is published, or explicitly state when there are none, so the public can see what the single consent vote will approve.
Lynch also recommended the county explore installation of a hearing loop (telecoil) system in the commissioners' hearing room and the annex common area to help people with compatible hearing aids receive direct audio from the microphones and reduce background noise. He said the device requires both a hearing-loop installation in the facility and telecoil capability in individual hearing aids.
The board acknowledged the comment; the meeting proceeded to the scheduled agenda items. No formal direction or decision to install a hearing loop was recorded during the meeting.
