County Manager Candace Bryant presented the resolution, which the board said includes the appointment of Matthew Hobbs as county attorney and the addition of three members to the tourism panel — Lauren Barrett, Mel Lindquist and Angela Chandler Peterson — and Dr. Cindy Harmon as a member‑at‑large for the animal shelter advisory board. A commissioner moved to adopt Resolution 2025‑28; the board approved the resolution by voice vote.
On the consent agenda, the board approved an amendment to the professional services agreement with Political Advocacy Incorporated for lobbying services. Staff said the scope of services remains the same but the firm will charge less for the coming period; the firm will provide legislative updates and represent the county’s interests during the legislative session. Staff said the county can review the contractor’s performance annually.
The consent agenda passed by unanimous voice vote. County staff reminded residents that meeting recordings and transcribed videos are posted to the Lake County government YouTube channel and that materials are available on request from the BOCC administrative assistant.
