The Wright County Board of Supervisors approved Sept. 15 the filing of the county’s annual urban renewal report, which summarizes tax increment financing (TIF) debt and activity for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
During the discussion staff walked through the figures in the report. The transcript record shows a beginning outstanding TIF debt figure of about $11,040,927 and an end-of-year outstanding debt of $7,504,625 as of June 30, 2025. Board members noted that two obligations tied to the Agribusiness Park had been paid off during the year; remaining obligations include an Eagle Grove sewer loan and an Eagle Grove school revenue bond.
County staff explained Wright County maintains three urban renewal areas for county-level TIF: the southeastern wind turbine area, the Agribusiness Park, and RenewTrients (a road serving the Renewrients site). The board approved a motion to file the annual urban renewal report.
The board discussed delaying consideration of a separate annual urban renewal filing item until the county auditor could brief the board; that item was tabled to Sept. 15 for further briefing (as recorded in the minutes). The approved filing reflects the county’s summary of TIF receipts, debt outstanding and use of TIF funds for debt service.
