Summary
The Board approved the RAISE (USDOT) grant agreement enabling design work on two bike and pedestrian bridges over U.S. 18 and U.S. 164; the city's share is $279,000 with a federal amount exceeding $1 million.
The Board of Public Works approved a RAISE grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation on Sept. 18 to advance design and planning for two bike and pedestrian bridges over U.S. 18 and U.S. 164.
Staff said the project was included in the recently approved Capital Improvement Program and that approval of the federal agreement is the next required step so the city can proceed to request consultant services through an RFP. Staff told members that FHWA is expected to return final documents in early October and that the city’s local match for the grant is $279,000; staff said the federal portion covers more than $1 million.
A board motion to approve the RAISE grant agreement carried unanimously.
