The Kenosha Common Council approved the Uptown 4 redevelopment plan, designated the project boundaries and amended the official map to include parcels identified in the cooperative plan with the Town of Somers.
At second reading the council approved three zoning ordinances and rezoning requests consistent with the City Plan Commission recommendations. The council also approved a resolution to adopt the redevelopment plan for the Uptown 4 redevelopment project area and a resolution designating the project's boundaries. The official map was amended to include specified parcel numbers in the Town of Somers in accordance with the approved cooperative plan.
Finance and planning committees recommended approval on the items and council members recorded roll-call votes on the measures. One certified survey map for a two-lot division at 640550 Fourth Avenue was also approved by concurrence with Public Works recommendations.
Council members opened each ordinance and resolution for public hearing; no members of the public spoke on the record during the hearings. Roll-call votes were recorded; several zoning and redevelopment items passed on unanimous votes where recorded.
The council also amended the 2023 Capital Improvement Program to move $50,000 from a general acquisition account to create an Uptown Facade Grant line item as part of related Uptown work. The finance committee recommended the change.
