Staff says planning department opposes certain liquor uses; applicant worked with planning commission on revised conditions

At a Jacksonville agenda meeting, Dylan, a staff member, described a disagreement between the planning department and the planning commission over allowable liquor uses in a pending application. “I think what we’ve ended up here is with the planning department being opposed to certain type of liquor uses that they believe make this not consistent with the comp plan,” Dylan said. He added the applicant had offered revised conditions negotiated with the planning commission.

Dylan told the chair that if the committee adopts conditions the applicant will not accept, the proper course would be denial: “I think at this point, if you approve if you are wanting to go with conditions that the applicant does not want, in my mind, that should be a denial,” Dylan said. He also offered to answer questions when all committee members are present.
