Staff noted the construction schedule remains sensitive to higher-elevation work (roofing and facade) and that mild weather this fall would help preserve planned earlier opening windows. The expansion’s completion timing was also linked to future business opportunities; staff observed that earlier opening would improve the ability to capture transient demand for existing shows and conventions scheduled in the fall and winter. Board members were invited to a topping-off event and staff said invitations will be sent.
