City Council-approved zoning code amendments to take effect in about a month, staff says

Tulsa planning staff told the commission that a recent batch of zoning code amendments won second-reading approval at City Council and are expected to take effect in about a month.
Susan Miller, presenting the director’s report at the Sept. 17 meeting, told the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission that City Council approved a package of zoning-code amendments on second reading last week and that the changes are expected to take effect in about a month.
"The biggest thing that we were excited is the batch of amendments we had to the zoning code, those were approved second reading last week. So those will be in effect probably in about a month or so," Susan Miller said. She said the council had "a lot of cases" recently and that several zoning and comp-plan amendments were approved.
Miller did not provide detailed provisions of the code amendments during the commission meeting; she relayed the council action to the commission as part of the director’s update. Commissioners did not take formal action on the code amendments at this meeting; the planning commission discussion focused on agenda items and hearing procedures that followed the report.
Commissioners may address implementation or specific provisions in future meetings once ordinances and implementing materials are published by city staff.
