The Noel Bateman Lifetime Service Award — an established annual recognition — was presented to Michael Tingey, who served on the Sandy City Planning Commission from 1985 to 1994 and was involved in major decisions and projects including Bell Canyon Park and Dimple Dell Regional Park. A video tribute preceded Tingey’s remarks, in which he reflected on the city’s growth and the long-term civic projects he helped shepherd: “I look back at what became the very heart of Sandy City, our beautiful City Hall building,” Tingey said.
