Madison County accepts IT bids on file; commissioners schedule award vote for next meeting

Bids included a $118,450 submission from CMS Communications (switches), a $93,221.36 core bid from SHI (with an additional Juniper-based quote for $42,866.24 that staff noted did not match the requested specifications), and larger switch bids from Myler & Company ($364,560.87) and SHI ($463,778.97). A quote from CDW listed network switches at $398,540.36 and core equipment at $83,763.32.
Eads said some bids included refurbished units while others proposed new hardware and that one vendor later advised staff it had been awarded a state contract. Eads asked commissioners to place the bids on file and review them; a commissioner moved that the bids be placed on file in the IT department and that the award be brought back to the commissioners' meeting on October 7. The motion passed by voice vote; a roll-call tally was not specified.
