City staff said Sept. 8 the administration plans to donate surplus computers to the city’s sister city, El Bosque, Chile, under the Sister Cities International arrangement.
City manager staff told the commission the computers were donated earlier and that the city agreed to redistribute them. Teleperformance assisted with local distribution and the remaining units are proposed for shipment to El Bosque. Staff said the Chilean fire department will assume international shipping costs and the city will cover modest packing materials and handling, estimated at about $100.
The item was placed on the consent calendar for formal approval at the commission meeting the next day.
