The Parks and Recreation Board took three formal actions during its Sept. 10 meeting:
1) Approval of past meeting minutes: The board voted to approve the Aug. 14, 2025 meeting minutes as published. One member announced, "I'm abstaining," during roll call; the motion passed.
2) Guaje Pines Cemetery master plan: The board voted unanimously to recommend the consultant-prepared Guaje Pines Cemetery master plan to county council. The motion to recommend carried on roll call after discussion and presentation by Sloan Consulting Group.
3) Artificial-turf feasibility study: After a multi-hour presentation and public comment, the board voted unanimously to table the artificial-turf study and send the full study packet to the Environmental Sustainability Board (ESB) for review before any recommendation is forwarded to county council.
Each recorded roll call and outcome was taken during the Sept. 10 meeting; the motions will be reflected in the board minutes and, where applicable, next steps are to prepare council packets or forward materials to ESB.
