Bannock County deputies opened a public auction on Sept. 30, 2025, offering 12 tax-forfeited parcels under Idaho Code 31-808. Bidders purchased multiple parcels during the session at the Bannock County Courthouse in Pocatello; three parcels were not sold, deputies said.
The sale was conducted pursuant to an order of the Board of Bannock County Commissioners and the procedures specified in Idaho Code 31-808. Deputies and county staff said opening bids started at the taxes owing plus hard costs such as certified mailings and publication; the county announced that published costs had been reduced by $52.86 because of a clerical error. County staff told bidders that payments must be made in the auditor’s office, Room 104, by 5 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2025, or the bid would be void. Payments by cash, money order or cashier’s check allow the quitclaim deed to be signed and recorded the following week; payments by personal check delay signing for three weeks to allow the check to clear. The county cautioned that it does not guarantee clear title and that parcels may carry liens or other encumbrances.
