Bonner County airports approve purchase of used truck for $7,000

Airport manager Steve Shuck told commissioners the county has the opportunity to purchase a used truck from Independent Highway for $7,000 and recommended the purchase to add redundancy and flexibility to airport operations.
Shuck said the purchase was not specifically budgeted but the airports' capital lease account has sufficient funds because of lower-than-anticipated expenses elsewhere. He said the truck is similar to one the airports bought two years earlier, includes a dump bed and plow, can haul the equipment trailer, and will be used at both county airports.
The board voted to approve the purchase and authorized the chair to sign administrative paperwork.
Airport staff will complete the purchase from the capital lease account and add the vehicle to fleet management records.
