Yolo County Housing Executive Director Ian updated the Housing Authority Commission on Sept. 17 on several programmatic items, including emergency housing vouchers, EV chargers, migrant center closing dates, the Choice Neighborhood project and a planned distribution of air purifiers.
Emergency Housing Vouchers and consent-calendar change
Ian said the agency received 67 Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs) through the American Rescue Plan and that 53 vouchers remain active. He told commissioners that national projections show funding for EHVs could be exhausted earlier than initially anticipated, and staff are working with HUD guidance to transition households as funding changes. "Yolo County Housing received 67 of these, and ... We have 53 of those 67, EHVs still remaining," Ian told the commission.
