City planner Kelly Schroeder presented PL-25-27/Resolution 26-25 for the Outlaw Commercial Park final plat, a county subdivision located within the city’s one-mile joint planning area. The applicant proposes dividing roughly 8.5 acres near 1739 East Brundage Lane into seven commercial lots ranging from about 0.4 to 2 acres.
Schroeder said the property is about one-tenth of a mile outside city limits and is zoned I-2 in the county; the nearest city zoning is M-1. She said the property has existing water and sewer infrastructure that was permitted and installed to city standards on a prior project and that the city has accepted that infrastructure. Staff’s review identified drainage-report clarifications that were addressed and found the subdivision consistent with the city’s future land use plan for light industrial uses.
Under the memorandum of understanding that governs the joint planning area, city staff and council may offer comments but the county retains approval authority. Schroeder said staff sent notices to 98 surrounding property owners, published a legal ad and posted a sign; she said staff recommends council certify that the Outlaw Commercial Park Subdivision conforms with rules governing the joint planning area. The transcript contains the presentation and questions about services; no county action is recorded in the city’s study-session transcript.
