Planning commission approves Kirkwood Professional Office site plan

Staff said the site is part of the previously approved Kirkwood East development plan and that the proposed building footprint and elevations align with the approved development plan. The building would total just under 5,000 square feet, with landscaping, lighting and tree preservation plans included in the submission. The staff presentation noted no surrounding property owners submitted support or opposition.
Applicant Curtis Young of the Sage Group presented elevations and a landscape plan, and clarified trees could not be planted under an existing overhead power line by the site. The commission opened a public hearing; no members of the public spoke. Commissioner motioned to approve the application “subject to our staff report dated 08/29/2025 and subject to the site plan review summary number 2 dated 08/29/2025,” and the motion carried 5-0.
The approval allows the applicant to pursue building permits consistent with the approved site plan and the conditions in the staff report.
The commission’s approval is a recommendation that clears the way for permits; building permits and inspections remain subject to plan-compliance and standard permitting processes.
