FirstService Credit Union opened a new Sugar Land branch at 3601 Highway 6, the institution announced at a ribbon-cutting attended by local officials and media.
Dave Blazer, president and CEO of FirstService Credit Union, said the branch emphasizes a relationship model rather than traditional teller lines, with one-on-one service, an open-concept layout and a large screen for community information and educational programming.
Blazer said the credit union has served the Houston area since 1976 and offers consumer and commercial lending, virtual consultation rooms and community training classes. He invited residents to visit the new location and described the branch as designed to provide ‘‘fair and trusted financial services from a cooperative.’’
The ribbon-cutting marked the opening of the branch; no local subsidy, tax incentive or financing terms were discussed in the remarks on the program.
